Are you feeling anxious, depressed or numb? Have you lost your sense of purpose?
Having personally experienced counselling, I appreciate how hard it can feel to take that first step and ask for help. However, with support, it can be a relief to open up and share emotions of sadness, stress, loneliness, or feeling overwhelmed.
Counselling with me gives you the time and space to work through what is troubling you and, crucially, helps you gain a different perspective on your issues and circumstances. We live in increasingly uncertain times; however, with counselling, we can better understand how our experiences of abuse, confusion, or trauma may impact us, our lives, and our relationships.
Sharing our story with someone who offers us empathy and non-judgement helps to relieve us of shame or fear, and most importantly gives us hope. Being listened to by a caring, non-judgemental professional is empowering, and for some of my clients, life-changing.
Counselling is usually booked as one session a week, whether face-to-face or online, typically lasting around 50 minutes. A contract is agreed upon and a set number of sessions or open-ended counselling is offered.
“We can't be brave in the big world, without at least one small safe space to work through our fears and falls.”
— Brene Brown
My approach
Welcome to my practice. Counselling is most effective when the therapeutic relationship developed between counsellor and client involves trust and a genuine connection. This is at the heart of my practice, and the connection enables my clients — young people and adults — to feel at ease and share what is troubling them: be it anxiety, depression, or fear. I offer a free introductory call to discuss your needs and how I work.
I am a person-centred counsellor, placing my clients at the centre of our work together. Being in tune with your concerns, I work at your pace with empathy, non-judgement, and acceptance. While person-centred therapy is at the core of my practice, I work in an integrative way, applying aspects of other approaches to most effectively suit your individual issues or circumstance, face-to-face or online.
While my approach focuses on easing my clients’ distress, it also allows me to consider each person as a whole: emotions, thoughts, behaviour, physical well-being, and sense of self.
